About SSC Course
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Prelims Exam once a year for selection of candidates for the main Examination. Those candidates who will clear this preliminary exam can apply for Main Exam again with requisite fees which will write in an application form which is sent to such qualified candidates by the concerned regional offices of the Commission.
This Examination is basically conducted for recruitment to various subordinate services like
(A) Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and Subordinate office of the Govt. of India.
(B) Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs.
(C) Inspectors of Income Tax.
(D) Preventive Officers in Customs.
(E) Examiner in Customs.
(F) Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police & CBI.
(G) Sub-Inspectors in BSF, CRPF, ITBP and CISF.
(H) Divisional Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDCs in various offices of Govt. of India.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Exam
Age: The age of a Candidate must lie between
(a) 20 to 27 years for Assistant Grade & SIs in CBI
(b) 18 to 27 years for inspectors of CE/IT & Div. Acctts/Auditors/UDCs, etc.
(c) 20 to 25 years for SIs in CPOs on the first day of August of the year of Examination.
Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent. Desirable Qualification for SIs in CPOs: Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate or outstanding sports or athletic certificates.
SSC Exam Selection process
- Tier 1: The TIER 1 test is conducted for all students when there are large numbers of applications. Questions will be of objective type.
- Tier 2: This test is conducted at Graduate level mains exam and is also known as TIER II exam. Questions will be of objective type.
- Tier 3: This tier is also called personality test or interview test i.e. CPT test/skill test/document verification and other test will be organised as per as demand of various different post.
Those candidates who will qualify in tier 1 exam are further eligible to appear in tier 2 exams, and those candidates who will qualify in tier 2 will be call for tier 3.
The tier 1 exam is organised just for the screening purpose but the final result will be declared adding both Tier exam scores (CGL tier 1 and CGL tier 2 marks).
An interview test of 100 marks will be organised for wherever it’s applicable.
